Posted In: . By Parents Tips

Have you ever know what are the different signs and symptoms of the popular deadly virus called the swine flu or the A (H1N1) influenza? How could we determine if these people include infants have swine flu inside their body? How did it started when this terrible disease caused millions of people worldwide include infant to be infected and some of them have died with this disease? If we know how to determine if the person you are looking, or sitting beside you, or even contacted you with a suspected deadly disease, it is an advantage that you must be alert on what you can do. We may determine right now on how it transmitted to the humans.

First of all, we understand what swine term is all about, and are coming from pigs. It all started when the pigs are starting to cough, sneeze, difficulty in breathing and low appetite, that is a sign and symptom in which sick pigs have developed their disease in the farm. Transmission is on the process when a sick pig has direct contact on other pigs, then they will be also infected and sick and to produce swine flu among themselves. Here’s the worst part, when humans have open contact on the pigs, especially on pig farms, humans who do not wear mask and gloves have a better chance to be infected by transmission from sick pigs. The humans will develop different signs and symptoms which are composed of fever, sore throat, lack of appetite, coughing, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you think he or she is the suspected one, be aware that you already got contacted by them but there’s a good catch. If you’re quick enough to wash your hands and face, that’s one way to eliminate bacteria, especially when you have a direct contact with the infected one. Transmissions are done as the same with sick pigs, through direct contact. Airborne contacts have a slight chance that when you are in a crowded area or in any air-conditioned facilities like malls, internet cafes and entertainment lounges, and its for real because air can pass through the area which others are within that area and the air can be breathe in through your lungs.

Those are the things you need to consider about the signs and symptoms of swine flu on infant (humans) or pigs, and we can take precaution measures by defending ourselves through taking vitamins and health supplements (ask you doctor for infant supplements/vitamins), and also observe proper hygiene through wash our hands every time we touch some suspicious things, like humans who are infected by the deadly swine flu virus.

How to Handle a Whining Child

Posted In: . By Parents Tips

As a parent, you know the sound - “Moooooooooom!” Whining can set you on your last nerve instantly. Your child is well aware that, irritating as it might be, it will get your attention. However, it is also unacceptable and should be stopped early like any other bad habit. There are simple strategies you can use to show how and why whining is wrong while also giving them the opportunity to communicate with you in a more appropriate and effective way.

Begin by noting which specific situations trigger whining and making an effort to avoid these. Kids are likely to whine when you take them on extra errands when they are hungry, or when you try to get them involved in a game or activity that could prove frustrating when they are sleepy.

You can’t always know what will cause a child to whine, but certain behaviors on your part can help. Pay attention when your child talks, as they will often start to whine if you ignore them. When your child is talking to you in a rational way and not whining, praise them in the same tone of voice and openly listen to them to show that this is the best method for establishing successful communication.

When your child does start to whine, you must respond without taking it too far. Keeping your own tone calm and neutral will show your child directly how they should be speaking. Ask them to tell you what they want, again using that tone. Though you should not typically give in to your child’s demands, it can be helpful in stopping whining. If, for example, you are shopping for dinner but they want a snack, provide them with something healthy that can hold them over.

When setting boundaries with your child, be sure to enforce them. Set rules for how to deal with whining and use them accordingly. If whining persists as your child gets older, it is most likely due to boredom or a similar issue. Ask them to come up with something they can do instead. Trying to provide solutions yourself will usually only make the problem worse.

While most whining is connected to minor problems, sometimes it stems from much deeper issues. Be aware if whining is being provoked by traumas like divorce, serious illness in the family, or trouble at school. In these cases, your child needs love and one-on-one attention. If all your methods of preventing whining have proven unsuccessful, talk to your pediatrician for help in coming up with new tactics to meet your child’s individual needs.
