Caesarean Versus Natural Birth

Caesarean Versus Natural Birth. It can be a difficult decision when thinking about what type of birth to have. There may be no choice and you may need a Caesarean for health reasons. However, if you are given a choice it may be tempting to think that Caesarean is an easy option. It is true that you would not need to go through the labour – which some women find to be very unpleasant but it does not have to be a bad experience.

Some people have very short labours and some feel very little pain at all. Others see it as a natural introduction to their baby and if you have a positive attitude about it, it can make it far better. There are also pain relief methods which are very effective. A caesarean birth will leave you unable to walk for a while and will also stop you being able to lift anything heavy so could be very inconvenient when you leave hospital, especially if you do not have much help. You will also have a longer stay in hospital, which may not be so pleasant for you. If you have had a caesarean for a previous birth then it may be tempting to have another because you know what to expect but you may find that a natural birth suits you better and you will not find out until you try.
