Am I crazy? I don’t understand why I feel this way about ___.

Most teenagers are under a lot of stress, it’s either people they’re struggling with making friends, or they’re having a hard time understanding school work. They start to think that it’s them that is the issue, but in reality, they should be looking at what’s causing them to feel this way in the first place.

If parents are having relationship issues, or are divorced, it hits a teenager really hard. They don’t understand what’s going on or why it’s happening. They question on whether it was their fault for you splitting up, and if you really love them. Death usually sparks the thought about having no one at one point of your life and being clingy to who you do have.

I don’t recommend that any teenager go see a professional therapist because it only makes them worse. Like, these people want to make commissions from prescribing medications , and they also want to keep you coming back, and while they listen, they don’t help you overcome your fears. Depression is more like a fad than anything else, most of us don’t need those medications. It’s the same thing with ADHD, if all of us just quit eating so much sugar, we’d be fine. I’m not telling you to go on a diet, but you know, eat three meals a day with a couple of healthy snacks in between!

And if you know someone who’s very paranoid and clingy, don’t keep reminding them of it and just be their friend. I used to have a friend who was just like that and eventually she started to trust me and we’re still very good friends. You need to make people feel better and not worse than they already are.
